WORKING AT MWPF

Mineworkers Provident Fund is driven by a high-performance culture with engaged employees, achieving an employee engagement index of 68% in 2022. The Fund strives to bring about a positive employee experience. We believe in treating our members with respect, restoring their dignity, and helping them achieve their financial freedom post-retirement.

Our Values

We believe in living our brand values and reward employees who embody the values on a quarterly basis. Our values are:

  1. Respect: Respect is prudent, considerate, tolerant, fair and compassionate.
  2. Dignity: Dignity is humble, appreciative, worthy and unassuming.
  3. Legacy: Legacy takes legendary actions, endures despite challenges and adversities, shows positive growth, accomplishes goals set, always has a winner’s mentality and has a ‘yes’ attitude.

Learning and Development

We are committed to the learning and development of all employees and encourage a culture of learning which fosters growth. As such, we empower employees with appropriate skills and competencies to ensure “fit for purpose”. In addition, we offer study assistance to employees who further their studies through Institutions of Higher Learning.

Employee Wellness Programme

Employee well-being is a critical component of a healthy working environment and an aspect the organisation takes very seriously. We promote the overall mental, physical, emotional, and financial health of all employees because we believe healthy employees lead to happy employees and this often translates to engaged and productive employees.

To drive an environment that promotes employee wellbeing, the Fund employs many strategies including ICAS - a wellness programme which provides 24/7 access to professional, confidential counselling and coaching to support employees on any personal or work-related matters through a team of healthcare professionals and social workers.

Youth development

In 2022 MWPF started a Youth Employment Services Programme. The Youth Employment Services Programme is aimed at assisting young individuals with no work experience. The Fund takes on a number of graduates each year to train in various departments for a 12-month period.
